Specificity:
Caveolin-1 is a major structural component of
caveolae which are vasicular invaginations
present on the plasma membrane of different
cell types. It plays a regulatory role in several
signalling pathways and is reported to be most
abundantly expressed in terminally differentiated
mesenchymal cells such as smooth muscle cells,
adipocytes, endothelial cells and fibroblasts.
Immunogen:
Prokaryotic recombinant protein containing part
of the N-terminus domain of the human
Caveolin-1 molecule.
Ig Isotype:
Mouse IgG2a/
Cellular Localization:
Cytoplasmic and membrane.
Species Reactivity:
Human. Others not tested.
Positive Control:
Immunohistochemistry: Colon
Western blot: MG-63 cell line
Format:
1 mL of liquid tissue culture supernatant
containing monoclonal antibody with 15 mM
sodium azide.
Storage:
Store at 4°C until expiration date indicated on
the vial label. Prepare working dilutions on the
day of use.
Applications and Suggested Dilutions:
 Immunohistochemistry: Paraffin sections.
Use at a 1:200 dilution. Use a hightemperature
antigen unmasking technique
with 60-minute primary antibody incubation at
25°C and standard ABC technique.
 Western blot: Use at ~ 1:4,000 dilution.
The optimal dilution for a specific application
should be determined by the researcher.
